Christmas Celebration with Refugees

Dec 10, 2022

Since April, thousands of asylum-seekers have been bused to Washington from the southern border, and hundreds have remained in our area. Help make the holidays merry for them! St. Mark’s is working with the Refugee Response coalition that includes faith communities, mutual aid organizations and others on a festive Christmas celebration on December 17. Time is short but you can still buy needed items such as board books in Spanish, small toy vehicles, action figures, coloring books, stuffed animals, etc. Smaller items are best as many families live in shelters or hotels. You can deliver these items to New York Avenue Presbyterian Church at 1313 New York Avenue NW by Tuesday, December 13 or email Julie Murphy at and she will pick them up from you.

You can also make a financial contribution via (select the option Refugee Support). If you want more info on how you can help or volunteer on the 17th, contact or email Julie at the email address above.
