The Dream of God Class

Wed 4/12, 19, 26, and 5/3 | 6:30-8:30 pm, Baxter Hall

Join us for an engaged exploration of Verna Dozier’s The Dream of God: A Call to Return. Through this common read, the group will learn from Dozier’s keen imagination and insights and consider the following questions:

  • What is the dream of God?
  • With improved vision, what role must humans play in making the dream of God manifest in the world?

Together, we will reflect on the text as preparation for compassionate action of ministerial care for all of God’s creation.

Each participant should obtain a copy of the book and read it before the first session. Any edition of the book is fine, and there are a couple of copies in the St. Mark’s library that can be signed out and returned after the class. However, if you choose to borrow the book from the library, please know you cannot make any marks in it.

To facilitate conversation, the group is limited to 18 participants. Please contact Lynn
Kneedler at elkneedler[at] with questions.

Dates: Wednesday, April 12, 19, 26 and May 3
Time: 6:30 – 8:30 pm
