An End to Burning Dangerous Methane Gas

Nov 18, 2022

This fall, faith communities in Washington, DC and Maryland are committing to turning away from burning — learning, acting, and speaking out for an end to burning dangerous methane gas in our homes and communities. Part of that effort is calling on our elected offcials to lead our communities away from burning and the systems of pipes that lock us into using harmful methane gas.

On Dec 4th at 11am and 12:30pm, St. Mark’s will be hosting a seminar to learn together about WIN’s environmental justice organizing efforts, the impacts of methane gas on our local communities, and see a citizen science demonstration in our own kitchen. Afterwards, you’ll have the opportunity to sign up as a citizen scientist to test your own home, which will contribute to important data that is needed for this initiative.
